It is my pleasure to introduce the Family Bridges Institute, a Canada-based globally recognized leader of intervention for severe parental alienation and recovered abducted cases. Its multifaceted approach to addressing parental alienation includes the Family Bridges workshop, the Family Bridges Aftercare Protocol, extensive training for workshop leaders and aftercare providers, education, and research.


Following the retirement announcement of my dear friend and colleague, Dr. Randy Rand, from Building Family Bridges, it is imperative that his work live on. Our collective learnings and experiences together over the past 18 years have shaped what I am thrilled to share with you today: the Family Bridges Institute.


The mission of the Institute is to support the child’s right to have healthy relationships with both parents, when possible. This mission has not changed since the development of the Family Bridges workshop and Aftercare Protocol. What has expanded is our overall scope. My vision is
for the Family Bridges Institute to be a centre of excellence in provision of reunification services, research, training, and education.

My goal is to maintain the Family Bridges workshop and Aftercare Protocol as the gold standard of intervention programs for complex divorce cases and
to make them available internationally, while adding an Institute for gold standard training, education, and research in parental alienation.

As we all know, there is much work to be done and I’m excited to start this new chapter.
